What topics does the knowledge base cover?
The vault is organized around nine discipline pillars:

Content depth varies by topic. DC operations, automation, and transportation have deep coverage across methodology, benchmarks, and worked examples. Other pillars are foundational at this stage and expand continuously.
Does the knowledge base cover my specific industry vertical?
The vault is practitioner-written for 3PLs, distributors, manufacturers, and consulting firms. Most methodology applies across verticals — DC design, inventory policy, carrier management, and WMS selection are consistent disciplines regardless of whether you handle consumer goods, industrial parts, or perishables.
Where verticals diverge significantly (cold chain, hazmat, pharmaceuticals, high-value goods), the vault calls this out explicitly within the article. If a vertical-specific topic is thin or uncovered, the answer will say so rather than extrapolating from adjacent content.
How current is the content?
The vault is updated continuously. Each article carries an updated date. When industry shifts occur — new equipment generations, regulatory changes, carrier market moves, emerging technology deployments — affected articles are reviewed and revised.
For rapidly evolving topics (humanoid robotics, AI integration, carrier rate benchmarks), the article notes the knowledge cutoff explicitly. If you need fresher data than the vault carries on a specific topic, the answer will tell you that.
Sourcing
Who writes the content?
Content is authored and maintained by practitioners with direct operational experience — people who have led DC buildouts, designed transportation networks, negotiated 3PL contracts, deployed WMS/WCS systems, and run continuous improvement programs in live facilities.
It is not sourced from web scraping, vendor marketing materials, academic journals without operational validation, or general AI training data. When external standards, regulations, or published benchmarks are referenced (IEC 62443, Gartner maturity models, APICS SCOR), the source is cited explicitly within the content.
How do you ensure answers are accurate?
Three mechanisms work together:
- Bounded source vault — every answer draws exclusively from vault articles, not open-web retrieval or general AI training data. The vault is the knowledge boundary.
- Citations on every answer — each response links to the specific article(s) it drew from. You can read the full source, check the methodology, and verify the figures directly.
- Practitioner review — content is authored and reviewed by people with direct operational backgrounds. Where something is contested or benchmark-dependent, the answer says so explicitly rather than stating false certainty.
We do not guarantee that every answer is correct for your specific situation. Supply chain and logistics decisions involve variables no knowledge base can fully capture. The platform improves the quality of your analysis — it does not replace it.
What if an answer is wrong or outdated?
Email support@highbay.io with the question and your concern. If a vault article is wrong or stale, it gets corrected and that correction propagates to future answers. We credit the report to you.
Content Tiers
What is the difference between free and Advisor-tier content?
Free content covers publicly available methodology, industry definitions, and introductory frameworks. Advisor-tier content includes:
- Full worked examples with real data inputs and outputs
- Practitioner methodology detail (not just what, but how)
- Decision frameworks with scoring matrices and benchmarks
- Strategy articles on network consolidation, 3PL selection, automation sequencing, and similar high-stakes topics
Advisor-tier content is available on the Advisor and Principal plans. Free users see all free-tier articles and introductory context on Advisor-tier topics.
Can I see which articles are free vs. Advisor-tier before subscribing?
Yes. The Search page shows all articles in the vault with their tier label. Free articles are fully readable without a subscription. Advisor-tier articles show a preview with a clear indication that a subscription is required to read the full article.
Does Principal unlock additional content beyond Advisor?
Principal unlocks deeper engagement through the Cowork tool and Engagement Hub workflows — not a separate content library. The vault content itself is identical for Advisor and Principal subscribers.
The difference is in how you interact with it: Principal tier uses a senior practitioner persona that challenges assumptions, identifies risks, and proposes structured next steps. It also unlocks the Engagement Hub for project-scale consulting workflows.
